Thank god for seat belts and air bags.

So, my mom and I wear in a pretty serious car crash on Thursday. I think we hit a patch of black ice and swerved off the road. The last thing I remember was a patch of small pine trees coming at us, then I screamed and closed my eyes. When I opened my eyes, the car was upside down. I can remember unbuckling my seat belt and crawling out a window and opening my mom's door (she was driving). Four people stopped to help us. One guy called 911, another guy had a seat belt cutter, so we were able to get mom out and another guy had a big first aid kit. I had two deep lacerations on my left forearm that the guy with the first aid kit bandaged up. I ended up needing surgery on my arm, to clean everything out and there was also a tendon that was damaged. So I got to spend the night in the hospital. My left arm is now in a splint, which is annoying as hell. I also broke a canine tooth.
All things considered, mom and I were extremely lucky. Mom just has some cuts and bruises and both of us are very stiff and sore. But, we are both alive and neither of us had any broken bones. The car os totaled however. Thank god we have insurance.
