A Serious Man (2009)

It is fascinating to watch A Serious Man purely from the cinematic perspective. I mean, lately I feel that most of the films I see are just flicks that pass by without leaving a mark. Yes, they are entertaining for a couple of hours but that's it, they don't stay with you a week later. A Serious Man totally does. It is well-written, well-paced and meticulously filmed picture that basically says: "That's how a Film should look like".
But mind you, it's not for everyone. You see, Coens don't spill everything out for the viewer. They definitely have an idea, a message if you will, but they hide it behind all those metaphors and symbols. And it might be confusing for an unprepared filmgoer.
