...Adam Lambert.
American Idol has their final 36 contestants and, it's time to throw in my $0.02. Adam Lambert has my vote.
Adam Lambert is a veteran of the stage (Upright Caberet, cast of Wicked), he's unapologetically campy, he's pretty as hell, and he wears his punk hair and guyliner like a freakin' pro. (Could he BE any more my type?!??!)
Oh, and when he sings, the other contestants must be shakin' in their Uggs. He's fantastic. Whatever you want - rock, Broadway, screamo - he's on it, and he sings the shit out of it. He's got a dream range...high tenor with an awesome, strong falsetto, and when he's performing you can't take your eyes off him. (Of course, I'm biased. It could easily be his green eyes and well-fitting skinny jeans.)
God bless men who can pull off skinny jeans and eyeliner...
We'll see how far he goes. There's no question that he's the best singer on the show (IMHO), but is he too over the top for Randy? Too trained for Paula? Too theatrical for Kara? Too...gay for Simon? Only time will tell. Plus, there's the whole issue of David Cook winning last year. Can we have two rockers in a row?
