The Ugakpah (The Shadestone People)
The Ugakpah People are scattered worldwide, but are only able to survive in arid, inhospitable desert regions, most easily discovered living reclusive lives between the massive boulders of crumbling mountains in the Algerian Sahara, in the Hoggar Mountains, within the twin peaks of Tezouai, which are the two cores of extinct volcanoes.
Nestled in the valleys of these dead volcanoes among the rocky terrain (in places unreachable to man) are isolated oases where the Ugakpah coexist with other rare Saharan species like Cypresses, Gazelles and Cheetahs.
The Ugakpah are a pygmy tribe who come in all shapes and temperaments and are formidable desert nest-builders. They’re renowned for their excavation skills and their diet consists exclusively of Desert Hawk Wasps and the Gold they dig up from deep within the mountains. They extract transitional metal veins from the mountains like Silver, Platinum and Titanium for trading with other tribes, and it’s universally agreed by all tribes that the Ugakpah's mountains produce the purest metals in the largest quantities, in the world. Gold (to The Ugakpah) equals life, just like oxygen and water are life to Man.
