Why do sports teams think that just because they won something meaningless they have the right to bring traffic to a standstill?
"Thousands of Derby County fans have lined the city's streets to pay tribute to their heroes after they won promotion back to the Premiership.
Players and staff toured the city in two open-topped buses before meeting more supporters at Pride Park stadium.
The streets were so busy it took the buses more than an hour and a half to reach the ground. " I work in Pride Park and pretty much everyone had to either leave early (and make it up tomorrow) or leave late just so they could get home within a reasonable time. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against sports fans but I wish they could be more considerate. Living in cities with major sports teams sucks. When I lived in Edinburgh half a mile from the Hearts stadium and was ill on the day of match, I ended up waiting half an hour to cross a road to get to a supermarket that's 5 minutes walk away, nobody had the consideration to stop and let people cross.
I'm pretty sure I walked past some paramedics who were in the middle of saving someone's life this morning (homeless looking guy who they found unconscious in the rain). They don't get a parade, but then again they probably have to consideration to let people get home from work in a reasonable amount of time.
