Addition to the Family
We have a cat!
Brought her home from the animal shelter this morning. She's an amazingly beautiful dark tabby with huge green eyes, about 18 months old and a lady through and through: quiet, imperious when it comes to food, dispenses of annoying strangers by pointedly ignoring them, very well behaved, likes to play (if it so pleases her) and this occasionally rather wildly. Did I mention her demand of food? ;) Anyway, she's getting used to us and the flat, and it looks rather well right now.
Will have to return to animal shelter in two weeks or so for a check up with the doc and to have her spayed (if she isn't already), but for this expedition I'll organise a car - having to carry a cat in a basket through public transport was bad enough once, I don't want to be close to her if we have to do that after the doc visit.
My flatmate and I decided, after long consideration and thorough research in the world-wide web, that she is to be named Ms. Evelyn Murphy. And yes, that'S Murphy because of Rita Mae Brown's novels about that beautiful, intelligent tabby named Mrs. Murphy.
I'll upload some pictures when I either get a digital camera into my hands or when the real photos are developed and can be scanned, if anyone of you is interested.
