I'm presenting at Misti!

I had the hubris to propose two, and they both were accepted.  One for the the fellow werewolves and werewolf sympathizers:

Lycanthropy Legislative Reform in a Post-War World: A Modest Proposal

This one should be fun, although some of it will probably be even more serious than when I initially proposed it.  Nice incentive to get some real work done on that werewolf book, though! My laptop went wonky--twice--and had to go in and get fixed.  That will show me to adopt a first generation model. I've got a lot of neat material for this one!

This next one's probably going to be more controversial:

My Little Harry, or Friendship is Magic: the true heir of Harry Potter

[Edit: probably should have said it's more about the show than the fandom, which can be--problematic, I suppose?]

This is just TRUE.  Seriously.

I really do describe the show as "well, imagine Hermione Granger if Hermione were a purple unicorn."  Based on some spoiler leaks, shit is about to get REAL in a way that makes the Harmonian riots look like a pleasant picnic in the park, and this will probably mean tweaking the ideas in the presentation just a tad.

I'm also going to have to ramp up my graphic presentation skills, but hey--an excuse to play with toys, right?  That, or I'll have to go to MediaVision with requests to pull things and I'm not sure they would agree.  I'm going to figure out whether or not I should write to Hasbro first, even though I am very sure that small image captures and very short clips, presented at an academic conference for scholarly and critical use on ONE occasion for non-commercial purposes does constitute fair use.

ENEMIES OF THE HEIR, BEWARE

Actually, I'm probably going to need a bit of help prepping a costume.  Something like this:

dressing up as this:

or vice versa, but seriously, these characters could have been separated at birth.

Anyway, I do hope people will like it.  Of course you will!
