MCU Halfmoon Exchange
So, the person I'm writing for pretty much gave me carte blanche as long as there's lots of ladies being awesome.
Someone on tumblr prompted a NASCAR au with Pepper as the owner of an all-female crew. I loved the idea at the time but never got around to it...so I definitely want to try my hand at it now. The only problem is I know nothing about NASCAR, despite living not terribly far away from Indy.
Needless to say, I've been reading a ton of things on how it works. There's also a mini-documentary on Hulu following this 17-year-old upcoming driver (oh, he's such a teenager), and I'm borrowing Danica Patrick's autobiography from the library. It should be fun, writing the MCU ladies in a sports AU while addressing the way female athletes are treated by the media, sexism in professional sports, women in male-dominated fields...yep.
Darcy's the driver, you know the other male drivers are going to call her Princess Peach or something (apparently they called Danica Patrick's car the "princessmobile."
