Golden Globes Night!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love award shows. I live for them, nothing I love more then celebrities in formal wear, pretending to like each other and proving Oscar worth by acting like gracious losers. Okay, lets get to this, how I'm hoping things will go this evening:
Best Motion Picture - Drama (FYI most of these films either haven't come out yet or only have limited release):
The Reader... I guess, as I haven't seen any of these films, the only one out near me is Benjamin Button. But I like Kate Winslet and Liam, so I'll throw my support to them.
Best Actress in a film - Drama:
Tough call, again I love Kate Winslet, but I haven't seen Revolutionary Road (because it's not out yet, but the trailer does look good). I did however see Changeling and Angelina Jolie was great and I'm not a fan.
Best Actor in a film - Drama:
I've got nothing because I haven't seen any of these movies because the vast majority of them haven't been released yet.
What the hell is this? Where's the Dark Knight nom? They cleaned up at the People's Choice Awards (Probably because people actually saw the movie, might've made all the difference).
Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy:
Mamma Mia! I really loved this movie, even though a certain leading man who was once James Bond can't sing to save his life... my feeling it this, the Cohen brothers need another award like I need another Fandom. Happy-Go-Lucky looked very funny but I didn't really get the chance to see it.
Best Actress in a film - Musical or Comedy:
Meryl Streep or Emma Thompson... Emma's British... What can I say, I'm a big fan of Emma's and have been for a long time. She gave me the greatest gift of all... Alan Rickman in a Jane Austen film.
Best Actor in a film - Musical or Comedy:
Dustin Hoffman, cause he's awesome. Also, what the hell? Why did James Franco get a nom for Pineapple Express and Seth Rogan didn't?
Best Supporting Actress:
Wow... I haven't seen any of these films but I think that Amy Adams is adorable so if she wins for Doubt it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
Best Supporting Actor:
Heath Ledger, without a doubt... where's Christian Bale's nom for lead actor? He did after all play the incredible lead of DARK KNIGHT (You know the other guy in the Batman movie, Bruce Wayne, kinda important to the film)
Best Animated Feature Film:
... I'm not 12 so I really don't have a stake in this one... Kung Fu Panda had Jack Black so that's something.
I'm just going to go ahead and skip Best Foreign Language Film. Haven't heard of any of them.
Best Director:
Again, only one of these films have been made available... I will say that I don't want Ron Howard to win because I'm kind of hoping to avoid a long political acceptance speech.
Best Screenplay:
... Release the movies and I'll have an opinion
Best Original Score:
Actually the score for Changeling that Clint Eastwood composed was beautiful. However I do love Hans Zimmer... I'd be happy either way.
Best Original Song:

Best TV Series - Drama:
HOUSE! Please please please, let House win.
Best Actress in a TV Series - Drama:
Anna Paquin for True Blood or Mariska Hargitay, as she is the only person from the Law & Order 'verse that is ever nominated for anything.
Best Actor in a TV Series - Drama:
HUGH LAURIE, he got nothing at the Emmy's so lets get something else going here. A Golden Globe would totally be okay.
Best TV Series - Musical or Comedy:
The Office. I really don't feel as though I need to explain that. This season gave us:
"Get out of my nook Dwight!"
A Delightful trip to Canada
Some more Toby/Kelly undertones for those of us who are desperate KOBY supporters
A trip to the beet farm
Dwight's wrapped desk
Giving birth to a water mellon
Oh yes, an engagement.

Uh... I'm not really interested in this one. Christina Applegate is a favorite of mine from way back, like the Married with Children days.
Best Actor in a TV Series - Comedy:
Steve Carell, obviously my first choice. Although I wouldn't mind it if David Duchovny won because I love Californication.
Best Mini-Series or Made for TV Movie:
John Adams, as it is the one I have seen. I keep missing Bernard and Doris, I'll see it eventually.
Actress in a Mini-Series or Made for TV Movie:
Part of me goes for Judi Dench because she's Judi Dench.
However, I love Laura Linney and kick myself for not being aware of her before Love Actually, which I have to be grateful for her in that movie where her character's name is Sara. This is just a round about way for me to gloat that Alan Rickman says my name. *giggle*
Actor in a Mini-Series or Made for TV Movie:
Paul Giamatti, cause he played John Adams and was really the last person you'd imagine as John Adams.
Okay... so they shove supporting role for a series, mini-series or made for TV movie into one whole category? Cause now is the place to save time?

I've got nothing for supporting actress because I don't watch any of these shows or have seen any of the movies.
Supporting Actor:
Neil Patrick Harris, that's right. NPH! The hand that touched my back at Comic-Con this summer could possibly be holding a Golden Globe tonight. I'll certainly be keeping this in mind.
This is where we are at the moment. We'll see how the evening goes.
