Third time’s the charm?

I totally failed at taking/posting pictures this weekend. I got eated by my homeworks, which are numerous, time-consuming, and like to feast upon human flesh. I hope to make it up by finally posting this, which has been waiting for me to finish it for like two weeks. Pretty pictures of knitting? Actually, mostly just ranting. Daily pictures will return (hopefully) tonight.

This sweater was meant to be a Christmas present for my dad. That failed, since all he got for Christmas was a body from the armpits down and half a sleeve, so it became a birthday present. That failed too, since a week before his birthday I had what should have been a finished sweater, but the neck hole was two feet wide. I frogged it back to the armpits and tried to do some math to figure out exactly how much I should be decreasing. I did that math wrong, so I had to frog it again (only like two inches this time). I finally figured out what was going wrong and redid the math very, very carefully, and it’s going well- the third time through.

That’s a detail of the shoulder decreases. The pattern is a modified version of the Saranac pullover from knitty.com. Mine doesn’t have the zipper or the v-neck, and will have a shorter collar. Here’s a better detail of the stitch pattern:

Since this picture was taken (once again, like, two weeks ago) I’ve finished most of the body. In fact, not two hours ago in class I began the first neck cast off. I have like 13 rows left you guys! This is so exciting! THIS SWEATER HAS BEEN HAUNTING ME FOR THREE MONTHS.
