Anybody know anything about Australian universities? :((

Oh wow, my computer appears to be working properly for the moment. We really do live in an age of miracles! Okay, before everything dies again, I have this terrible huge dilemma I sorta need to get some advice on.

Wait. From the beginning. Um.

I'm terrible at making up my mind. Seriously. There was this time, in English class, when we were given this very basic assignment - to write an essay. We had a choice of topics. The only problem was, I couldn't decide which topic I'd rather write about. So what did I do? Well, if this had happened in the last few weeks, after I got pulled into SGA fandom, I'd maybe have tossed a coin (it's totally the best way to make important life-altering decisions). But SGA wasn't airing then, and I could *not* figure out which to choose, so instead, I started writing both of the essays. Yes. One for each topic. And I got about halfway through each before I finally decided which one I wanted to do.

Like I said. I'm *terrible* at making up my mind.

Thing is, I'm now in this situation where I can't take both options until I figure out where I want to go, and I'm not John Sheppard, so it's entirely possible flipping a coin won't work out for me the way it did for him. And as I don't live in Australia, I only have a limited amount of information available and - wait, wait. From the beginning. Yes.

Problem = university. Long story short, I applied to a bunch of places in Australia and am now trying to figure out whether I should pick Monash or the University of Melbourne. I want to do a double major, Media & Communications + English (Bachelor of Arts). All I know about either of the universities is what I've picked up from rankings lists, brochures, and their websites. And see, the rankings lists are just *data*, and the brochures and websites are probably biased, and I just feel like I don't know enough about either university to *choose* one.

Did I mention I have to figure this out by tomorrow morning at the latest?

*looks at flist hopefully* Does anyone know anything about either of those unis? Like, which one has the most interesting/varied English + Media & Comm courses, and best teachers or whatever? I'm mainly wondering about the courses, because from looking at lists of course names, a lot of them look sorta - not as interesting as they could be, compared to course lists from other universities. Do Monash and Melbourne just suck at naming things? Is that it? Which would you say is the better choice? :(( :(( :((

If anyone can help at all, I would be *so* incredibly grateful.
