I'm tempted to eradicate Smash Mouth from my iTunes library. Why? Because I'm tired of them coming up when I type 's-m-a-s-h' into the Artist pane instead of The Smashing Pumpkins.
This makes me think about minimalism and simplicity and such. Because disk space is "too cheap to meter", we have a tendency to think "why not keep all these files just in case I might want them sometime - it doesn't cost anything", but there are other less obvious costs than the mere physical storage costs - costs of our time and trouble to find things, and the even subtler cost of our distraction by things which don't truly interest us but divert our attention by their mere presence... the more stuff we have, whether physical or virtual, the more these hidden costs increase.

I suppose I'd get rid of Smashmouth anyway, since I like Smashing Pumpkins much more and never feel an urge to listen to Smashmouth. :P
