Last night I was driving over to Apple so I could keep
eliset company for a few hours while she worked the swing shift. Thanks to
ivo loaning me his DIN tools, I'd finally gotten around to repairing the line-in that I'd hacked into the Miata's stereo, and for the first time in months I was listening to my iPod as I drove.
The album I'd happened to land on was Ben Folds Five, "Whatever and Ever Amen", a CD I'd ripped from a friend back home while I was still living in Shelbyville. I remember thinking to myself that I should really get around to buying it, since I've listened to it quite a bit over the years. Then it hit me: it's been six years since I lived in that apartment, and I've spent over five of those years here in Austin. It sure doesn't seem like it's been that long.
Now, who should I talk to about getting my nice engraved pen and my five-year lucite plaque?
