The first time Prowl heard Jazz telling him "I love you" was the very same orn he met him, in perfect Polihexian dialect.
"Primus mech, Ah think Ah love ya." Jazz had grinned at Prowl. Someone had stolen the visored mech's credits, but fortunately the officer that apprehended the thief was able to return the credits to their rightful owner. Prowl smiled his barely there smile that Jazz will learn to adore, in time. That was Jazz's very first sentence to the mech that will become his bonded, his reason to smile and live.

The next time, it was Prowl who said those three magical words, as the two black and whites stood in the center of Praxus Crystal Gardens, the very orn Prowl proposed bonding with Jazz.
"I love you, my beautiful Jazz." Prowl spoke in perfect Praxian.
"And I love you too, Prowler, with all my spark." Jazz replied as well in perfect Praxian, while stroking Prowl's cheek.

Many "I love you's" were traded over the vorns between the now bonded couple. Some were spoken out loud, others whispered in their sparks. And when the war broke loose, Prowl and Jazz began to treasure those three simple words even more. The desire to hear their lover whisper "I love you" in their audio was the reason they fought so hard to survive this horrible war.
They crashed on a small organic planet called Earth. The next time Prowl heard Jazz whisper those words to him, at first he didn't understand.
"I love you." Jazz said gently in perfect English as Prowl on lined from his long 4 million year stasis. The Praxian at first didn't understand, since he still had not downloaded some Earth's many languages. Prowl didn't understand the words but he knew the meaning behind them. He smiled gently and reached with his servo to bring Jazz's face closer for a long, sensual kiss.
And that's how it started. Jazz found it truly fascinating how many languages this small planet had. The saboteur adored learning about cultures. So it started out as a game between Prowl and Jazz, but it grew in to something much, much more.

"Je t'aime." Jazz had whispered in French, arousal clear in his voice as the saboteur looked at Prowl's form above him, pampering him with loving kisses. It was one of their favorite languages. After all, Jazz adored the 'city of love'. As did Prowl.
000
"Ich liebe dich, Prowler, but you are wrong." Jazz hissed, annoyed at his bonded, fighting over Primus knows what. They liked using German for their fights. Prowl had great respect for this language, adoring the sound of the words. Jazz simply thought Prowl sounded incredibly hot while speaking it.

Prowl sighed in Spanish, "Te amo, Jazz." The enforcer shook his head and started to lead his muddy (and grinning) bond mate to the washracks.
000
"私はあなたを愛して," Jazz grinned at his annoyed bond mate while singing some sort of Japanese lyrics of a love song.
"Come on, love! The Japanese were very impressed with you during your visit! They said you spoke their language perfectly."
Prowl simply facepalmed as Jazz continued to sing "I love you" in Japanese. The saboteur started to sing even louder when he saw the smile that was starting to grow on his bonded's face.
000
"Я люблю тебя, Джазз." Prowls said innocently in Russian, a smirk threatening to appear on his face. Jazz simply spat out the snow that Prowl somehow managed to hit him with, directly in his face. Jazz grinned as he took a fistful of snow. The game was on.
000
"Ég elska þig" Jazz sang in perfect Icelandic at the now snow-covered Prowl.
000
"Обичам те, Джаз. Обичам те. Please, please don't leave me." Prowl begged in Bulgarian, explosions surging around them as Ratchet desperately fought for the saboteur's life.
000
"Ti amo..." Jazz whispered tiredly in Italian, still recovering from his injuries as Prowl clutched him close, reassuring himself that Jazz was still there, still with him.
000
"Ego amare, Jazz!" Prowl screamed in Latin as overload rushed through him. Not even a second later, Jazz yelled his own overload in Greek, " Σ 'αγαπώ!"
000
"Eu te amo, Prowler!" Jazz teased in Portuguese as Prowl chased him on the highway, sirens blasting.
000
"Is breá liom tú." Prowl whispered in Irish next to Jazz's audio, the two of them stargazing near the Arc.
000
"Jag älskar dig." Jazz mumbled tiredly in Swedish, not wanting to get out of their berth for his shift. Prowl chuckled as he clutched the smaller form closer.
000
"Te iubesc, Jazz." Prowl said in Romanian, gladly accepting Jazz's reports that were, for once, on time. Jazz simply grinned sheepishly at him.
000
"Seni seviyorum, Prowler..." Jazz whispered in the air in Turkish, under a tree in Autumn. The leaves fell around him as he hopped that his bonded would return soon from his conference in Turkey.
000
"我爱你." Prowl said, smiling at Jazz as the two of them welcomed for the first time the Chinese New Year. Jazz beamed at him and said those three loving words as well in perfect Chinese. The response he got was Prowl ravishing him...
000
"What are you plotting?" Prowl raised his optic ridges at the grinning saboteur. Prowl was not fooled.
"Szeretlek, Prowler." Jazz said in Hungarian, all innocence.
000
"Jeg elsker deg..." Prowl said huskily in Norwegian as he pressed Jazz up against the wall, the smaller mech quivering under Prowl's passionate ministrations.
000
"난 널 사랑해, Prowl, but I kicked yer can just now!" Jazz said in Korean smugly, as he was able to beat Prowl in a board game. It occurred rarely. Prowl was after all 'Prowl' but in those rare times, just like when he won his way into Prowl's spark, Jazz is able to win a board game against him. Prowl simply crossed his arms and leaned in his seat, swearing never to admit to his bonded that occasionally he let Jazz win, from time to time. But letting Jazz in his spark was nothing but a win for the Praxian, Prowl mused lovingly.

The last time Prowl said 'I love you' to Jazz, no words or languages were used. Even with all of the languages and different ways to express this feeling, it was simply impossible for the true meaning to be captured in mere words. Just as the darkness started to consume Prowl, he knew that this was it. Prowl focused his remaining strength to send this one last message over the bond he shared with Jazz.
Prowl felt Jazz keen, denial surging in the link, begging him to fight, but knowing it was futile. Jazz wailed on his knees as he sent the last 'I love you' over the dying bond, the feeling escorting Prowl to the Well of Sparks.
Jazz's world became hollow after that. The words had no meaning to him anymore. The game was over because he no longer had a partner to play with.
One agonizingly lonely night, Jazz heard the words he treasured most, whispered in his audios. His spark on its own sang with joy, shouting those words, recognizing the voice instantly as his lover's, his bonded, his Prowl.
"Prowler, if ya love meh..." Jazz started in his Polihexian accent, unused for vorns, "If ya love meh, please, please don' leave meh alone...Take me with ya." Jazz begged in his silent quarters, begging for the agony to stop.
When Jazz heard and felt those three magical words envelop his spark, his soul, chasing away the coldness, the hollowness, Jazz knew that things would be okay. And as the warmth swallowed him, forming a cocoon around him, Jazz surrender himself completely, basking in the 'I love you's' he will hear forever and always, from now on.
'I love you.' Three simple words, conveying so much, yet not enough.
