Of course, the problem was that there was someone coming out of a store nearby who wasn't looking where he was going.

Well, that wasn't strictly true. He was paying a great deal of attention to where he was going in order not to run into anyone else in the crowd. It was just that he'd come to a point where it was walk into Khrista or walk into someone else, and he hadn't seen Khrista. Unless she stopped short, things weren't going to be pretty.

It was a second too late when Khrista realized that she was on a collision course, and, joy of joys, she did end up bumping into Marcus. Yeah, totally the perfect way to spend the afternoon.

"Oof!"

Marcus barely managed to keep his feet, but he still turned around to see if she needed help. "Are you all right? Sorry, I didn't see you..."

The impact had been enough to knock Khrista off her feet, considering her small stature, but she was attempting to get back up in no time. "It's okay," she said. "It happens."

It wasn't hard to tell that she was a foreigner. Her English had an accent, which was what could be expected from a girl who'd had to accompany her mother to various countries all her life. She'd spent the most time in China and Spain; hence why she could speak Mandarin, and why she had 'Ysa' for a nickname. Yeah, it was to match Jessica's own moniker, but the pronounciation also came close to hija, which was how she was fondly called during her time in Madrid.

He reached down to help her up. He couldn't help noticing the rather interesting accent; still, he was more concerned with her size, which made him feel even worse for knocking her over. "Still, I should have been watching out."

She gratefully took his hand, muttering a quick thank you. "No harm done, so don't worry about it," she added, smiling a little. "I'll have to ask, though. Where's the gaming area here? I'm afraid that's where my sister ran off to."

"Here, I'll take you there. My sister's probably there as well, to be honest. Honestly, she calls me her baby brother and then she runs off like she's half her age-" He caught himself and smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, I'm rambling."

"Sounds like my sister, although she's really the younger one." She didn't seem to mind the rambling; instead, she held out her hand. "I'm Khrista."

"Marcus." He shook her hand, shrugging slightly. "Mine is only older by a few minutes; we're twins."

"Really? What's it like?" she asked as they walked. If it was anything like her relationship with Ica, it was bound to be interesting. Oh, yes, the sisters were very close, but at the same time they were each other's rivals - fighting for their mother's attention, for the most part.

"It's... exhausting." He grinned. "Nausy is kind of spazzy. Fia - our little sister - isn't nearly as bad, but you would not believe the amount of chasing around it takes to keep Nausy in line, especially since she knows all of my tricks.

"At least you don't get the 'why aren't you like your sister?' remarks," she said as she ran a hand through her hair. That was actually the reason why she'd had her hair cut short - she'd grown tired of the constant comparison that, during their brief stay in Paris, she'd worked on getting a 'makeover'. "Still, it's fun having a sibling. At least you're never alone-"

"Ysa!"

Khrista looked ahead, and she sighed a little. Of course it was just like her sister to check out the latest games and gadgets - particularly virtual simulation combat games. And Ica didn't seem to care if she was invading someone's turf.

But she really wasn't the only one having fun.

"MARCUS MARCUS MARCUS HEY!" Ica's playmate hurried up to them, and it wasn't hard to tell who it was, not with all the spazzy energy.

"Mostly because people are usually glad I'm not like my sister after a while of dealing with her," he sighed. "But yes, it-"

He groaned softly as they were interrupted. Just when they were having a pleasant conversation, too... "Hi, Nausy."

Either Nausy was ignoring the fact or she simply didn't realize that Marcus was with someone else, because she practically ran up to him and yanked him by the arm. "Let's play! You never play with me anymore..."

Ica beckoned her sister to join her, but Khrista shook her head and simply stepped aside to give the twins some room.

Marcus sighed, trying to pull his arm away. "Nausy, have you considered not doing that when I'm in the middle of a conversation?"

Nausy did pull away, but now she was eyeing Khrista with interest. And then started giggling. Like in the extremely annoying kind of way. After all, her dearest twin had spent most of his life avoiding women, and now here he was, apparently on some sort of date she didn't know about.
