I think that trying to make a joke of the Muslim faith is a pretty underhanded way of curtailing the real issues surrounding the Gitmo situation. "Isn't their religion JUST SO SILLY? WE respect women! Unless it comes to abortion, in which case we should be making decisions for them!"
It's not about whose religion is more ridiculous, it's about international treaties regarding the treatment of POWs, the right to a trial (or at least the right to know what you're being charged with), and basic human decency.
It's like saying, "You know what's wrong with PETA? Those crazy Birkenstock sandals! I mean, come on people!" Sure, it may be true, but it has nothing to do with the issue at hand, and serves only to distract the populace from it (a skill perfected by our current administration).

Basic human decency?....When did their "religion" ever have a regard for basic human decency. We are trying to weed out the animals...oh I'm sorry, did I say animals?...oops! PETA might get upset with me over that! People that say their religion is behind the right to suppress their own population are a joke in themselves. Let the jokes roll on, well, on paper anyway. The first one. Anonymous Coward, whoever they may be, basically offers the equivalent of "All black people steal stuff, so why shouldn't we steal from them?"
Thank you so much for your supportive, NON-I'm-the-youth-of-America-and-I'm-going-to-bitch-about-our-country-and-the-system-no-matter-what comment! :) Besides, this satirical letter never really said anything directly about their religion, did it? Wasn't it more so stating fact about their existing culture? Although I guess their religion and culture go hand-in-hand, and their religion is the only one on earth that I can think of that is based on hate and empowerment by force rather than love, but oh well, let's all be supporters of hate now
