Never before have I been moved to tears at the drop of the new year's ball. Thank god this year is finally over. It's enough already. I didn't go out, I spent the evening at home with family and friends. What is my resolution? No insider trading in the year 2007!
Anyway.
Last night Adam and I went to the Skins/Giants game, which was no more torturous than expected, but was fun nontheless. It's amazing to see how profoundly affected by a loss Skins fans become, myself included: on the trainride home, most people looked like they'd been stood up on a date. And it seems we had been. End of season.
Pie was the better part of my diet for the better part of this week, as my mom's family and I ate the better part of six pumpkin, grape, and pizza pies which may have marked the better part of my vacation. To work off the calories, we went to Hane's point for a smart game of koosh frisbee and a climb on the Gulliver statue. It was a good time.
I saw Beaux' Stratagem at the Shakespeare Theatre Company yesterday, and it was a wonderful production. Possibly the best scenic design I've ever seen. Costumes were pretty too, good job Robert Pertziola, but all the attention to post-Restoration waistcoats just made me worry about all the work we're going to have to do on Man of Mode. Meh. One week left of vacation.
