Shame Versus Guilt...
I always thought guilt was better, guilt give yourself a moral sense, right? I feel guilty because I have morals, even when you're feeling guilty because you're not feeling guilty...

Asian cultures are known to be introverted, things suppose to come from within, understanding and everything else. People are naturally more quiet, demure etc, Asian cultures points inward, thing about Tao De Ching and Buddhism, there isn't the huge emphasis of materials. If there's something wrong, it's because of imbalance, things are pointed inward. It's the inside that matters, people don't actively seek stimuli, and other influence are not as important as internal ones.

Then why are Asian cultures shame culture? Confucius thought it was better punishment to shame someone than corpreal punishment. It worked didn't it? Most people, Asians espeically are afraid of losing face aren't they? There's the whole idea of not wanting to show people how you really are, isn't all of that true? How disturbing...

Sorry, but I follow guilt... shame is less important... yes I care about how people see me, but guilt is intrinsic.

Or... Jung is right... no too extremes.
