Bittersweet Christmas
What a sad and joyous x-mas we hve had in the last few days.
The weekend before, we have our annual x-mas gift exchange party at my grandparents house in washington. That was a wonderful night of games, family, food, and laughing babies.
Then on x-mas eve, a man came to our door with papers to inform us that we are to be foreclosed and must be out of our home by april. At least now we know how long we have. At least we have a bit of time to figure out where we will be going to live. Honestly, I feel for the guy who had to deliver the bad news. He had a large enough stack of papers in his hand, he looked like he had to evict half the neighborhood that day. ( Which isnt far off the mark ) He of all people had a terrible day ahead of him.
X-mas morning was beautiful. When I opened the shades to look outside, everything was completely covered with white frost. The view was breathtaking. We had a white x-mas without the snow!
Yuna, (9months old now,) wasted no time opening her stocking from santa. Once we showed her how to open the presents for her, she did very well at that too. She was so sxcited about the new toys, she couldn't decide what to play with first. It was soo cute and funny to watch her go from toy to toy to toy.
That evening we went to my husbands parents house. That didn't go so well. His dad refused to hold his own temper when I asked him to stop delibrately yelling and scareing my baby. I was even polite about it. He then yelled at me that it was his house and he could do what he wanted. That he wasnt yelling at me, I should mind my own business. Since my daughters welfare is my business I had plenty to say to that. Luckily, My husband stepped in before it could get too ugly. He simply said thats it, we are leaving. So we packed up evrything we had brought and left. His Dad glareing at me the whole time.
All in all, our first x-mas with Yuna has been a mixed bag, but I want to look at it as having been a joyous day. I want to remember Yuna's excitement in opening her first presents.
