Updated About Me Post
Okay. Time for my annual "About Me" post. My personal life has been a bit of a train wreck lately, so I needed something less on the negative side and more on the positive side.
Also, just like my post from last year, it is snowing.
Which gives me some time to play on LJ :)
Friending/Unfriending: My standard blather - Many of us have drifted apart and I won't be offended if you're one of those people who would like to go since we just failed to connect. You're welcome to stay, of course, and believe it or not I do LOVE to talk. So if you are interested in getting to know each other better than just some random fandom stuff, let me know. I love a good healthy conversation. I'm not cutting anyone right now, but you always have that out. Hope you'll stay, though!

Psych and Once Upon a Time: These shows are on probation. I'm not sure I'll stick with them. We shall see.
Community: It's fun and lighthearted. I'll watch it until it's done.
White Collar: Just recently started this one. I'm enjoying it and love the chemistry and banter between the characters. I'll stay with this show for now to see where it goes :)
Futurama: Not as good or as smart as its older incarnation, but still fun. I really love this show. I'm waiting for new episodes.
My Off-Air Shows: I am still fond of X-Files, but I don't really talk about it much anymore. I had to abandon my rewatch before because of real life. The same with Dark Angel. I am dying to do more stuff for that show and finish my rewatch, but with the house falling apart and a beloved pet dying, I have too much on my plate. Smallville I miss, though I don't miss the crap writing that happened the majority of the time, and while I miss the SG-1 days, I'm content to give the show a break for a while.
Supernatural: Saved the best for last! I still love this show. I think Season 7 has been fantastic, though I mourn the loss of some characters. I've really been turned off by the fandom, though. Every time I go to read something about the show, whether it's a recap of an episode I enjoyed or an interview with a cast member, the comments turn into a hot mess It's always someone complaining. Oh, Sam is being neglected again. Dean is being neglected again. This show is past its prime. Blah, blah, blah. Whine, whine, whine. I may be an unabashedly Dean girl, but I enjoy the show the most when crazy things happen to both brothers and when they learn to overcome their different viewpoints to band together against all odds. So I won't take part in all of that. Unfortunately, all the bickering isolates me even more and that's a shame as I love the show so much. I'll stick with this show as long as the stories are good, the actors continue to step of their game, and enthusiasm for the show runs high with the cast and crew. That leaves my LJ as the only place I can really talk about SPN, but I've been reluctant to do so lately. I'll try to change it, but it's hard to get out of that isolated mindset.
I still see myself as primarily a gen person, though there are many het couples I like. Dean/Jo is still my OTP for SPN, though I don't watch the show for shipping. I'm all about the brotherly relationship between Sam and Dean, and also love the friendship between Dean and Castiel.
Because life has been challenging, I haven't been active in the fandom as much, but I have some WIPs open and hope to post soon. I haven't abandoned my wing!fic series, either. It's just taking forever for me to get anything done with all the crazy in my life right now. Same with some art.
There's always more and I'm happy to talk to people who are very different than me as well.
