Well, I'm back at Weerona, and having to use some of my uni quota to do this and check DA >.> Haven't gone to sort out my phone so I can use dial-up yet, you see. Haven't had to see Reece yet either... oh the simple joys of live XD But I might be able to meet up with
moggybreath later, that'd be cool. Haven't seen her since we went to Luna Park at the end of last year for Jess and Eve's farewell party.
Anyway, until I cave in and buy chariot quota sort out my internet, I probably won't update this much... so nothing really different from normal then X3
Now, my friend Jess on DA asked me a question, and rather than clog up her comments, I thought I'd just answer it here.
Well Jess, you wanted to know how did I get into anime/videogames... for anime, I used to watch Sailor Moon when I was really little (like every other person LOL), plus for whatever reason my bro and I were into pokemon as well o.o (I've still got the gameboy games, but my gameboy colour died... T^T). But after that, it kinda faded off (and at the time, I don't think I realise what "anime" was XD heh). Until I discovered DA, and found
Jali (aka
Keysha-chan, or Kai ^^) and she was always talking about Fullmetal Alchemist in her journals and such, and it seemed like she liked it a lot, so one day when I walked into EB and saw FMA vol.3, I got it to check it out and 'see what the fuss was about' kinda thing... and yeah, needless to say I absolutely loved it and it kinda went from there XD
Plus my friend Reece (aka
The LAD) is really into anime, and he forces me to watch stuff recommends me some series if he thinks they're good (like "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" and Gunparade March" :D awesome ones...). That reminds me, I need to go find him and force Shinobuden onto him... *makes mental note*
So that's pretty much how I got into anime... games on the other hand... well, back in the day of the original Playstation, my cousins had one (they're 8 years older than me, btw) and when we'd go visit my Aunt's place, they used to let me and my bro play Crash Bandicoot (yes, the original). So I guess my love for gaming originally started there ^^ Then one day (years later) my bro got a second hand playstation (again, original console) and I bought a copy of Spyro the Dragon (still one of my fav games!) and haven't looked back :D
Eventually Nick got rid of the playstation so he could get an Xbox (bah, Microsoft! D: Boo...) so I went and bought my PS2 (pretty much when it first came out) and that came with a demo disc that had a demo of Ratchet & Clank, and I liked it so much I bought the game XD Then I found Jak & Daxter (partially because of R&C, and partially coz of Kai talking about it, I think). The rest is History XDDD I swear, Insomniac and Naughty Dog rule my gaming world :D And more recently, Squeenix is moving in on their territory, lmao.
...I'm such a geek XD Anyway, I hope that kinda answered your question, even if it was like a short story ^^; lol. I guess it's more that I kind of find out about things via other people - if someone who's opinion I respect says something is good/great/bloody awesome, I'm likely to go and at least check it out :3 (as in the cases of FMA, King of Bandit Jing, Jak & Daxter, Kingdom Hearts, and many other anime and games that I adore ^^)
And, just as a random fact to add to all this, I got into J-Rock (L'arc~en~Ciel etc) all by myself... via FMA. I said I started with Vol.3, right? Well, at that point in the series, Melissa (by Porno Graffiti) is the opening, and the very first second I heard it, I fell in love with it. I still love that opening. But from that, I tried to find out more about it, and discovered the world of japanese music (huzzah for the internet!). And I found Laraku after Ready Steady Go, obviously ;P And as with all of my obsessions, it started off small, and has escalated into something definitely NOT small XD I still find anime OP/ED as good places for finding new music/bands :D
Well, that turned out much longer of an explanation than I intended ^^; Sorry if I bored anyone to death, lol.
Oh, and talking about anime and stuff, I bought box sets of King of Bandit Jing and Fruits Basket yesterday :D I can't wait to watch them! Well, Furuba anyway, I've already seen Jing, just didn't own it X3 I got FMA vol.11 and vol.12 as well, and was really disappointed that they didn't have vol.13 (I've preordered the movie, Limited Edition, w00t!) plus they didn't have any Gankutsuou (I need the last 2 volumes T^T I wanna know what happens!) or Eureka Seven either. Boo. But I did get the 2 disc version of Pirates of the Caribbean 2 though. Captain Jack Sparrow ftw :D Plus I've got a heap of stuff on my computer to watch as well, 2 episodes of Death note, some Tokimeki Memorial and a heap of Hellsing and D.N.Angel ^^ I should be happy for quite a while XD
Well, I think I've rambled enough ;P I should get to making my room more normal (still have a few things to unpack/set up...) I don't know when I'll update this next, hopefully it won't be too long.
