Damn, if this weren't Tuesday, I'd think it was Friday for the slew of Recall News:
- The FDA is now acting on
the lab reports of cyanuric acid and acetaminophen found in cat and dog foods tested by a Texas lab. But they haven't named the UNRECALLED FOODS. Acetaminophen in foods would explain the liver issues that have been associated. Here's a
list of resources about the effects on dogs and ESPECIALLY cats. If you'll recall, Miaka went into liver failure shortly before her death.
-
FISH FOODS are being recalled!
-
Expansion of Canadian food inspections - Itchmo
has recieved two bags of the Iams Large Breed dry dog food that match the lot number from the open bag they had that tested positive for cyanuric acid. One of the new bags has been sent for testing, the other is being held in reserve just in case. I'm sure Iams won't be happy with the results.
- Information about
how to get your food tested.
-
Article containing a May 21st post from an Itchmo reader who reported on the tests he had done on Science Diet Sensitive Stomach that killed his cat. He was the first to report acetaminophen turning up in the food test. The lab was the same one from the tests above.
- And don't forget the recalls of toothpastes for diethyline glycol! Human and pet! Antifreeze is yummy!
I wonder how many of the people who think the poisonings and recalls are a done deal and return to believing the companies' hype are going to have their pets die later on. They're probably those who still think companies actually give a shit about their pets' health over their profits...
