Tore everything out a few days ago, at least that was dead or a wild sorrel or a nasturtium, killed by unfortunate neglect due to COVID quarantine (nope, didn't have it, just had to quarantine after meeting a college idiot in the grocery who was coughing up a storm and acting like he was 10) then wildfire air. Got over a tenth of an inch of rain yesterday, and had gotten down to give a little water last week or so, so I was happy to find today that the comfrey and yarrow are still alive, pretty sure the lavender and rosemary and ginger and those dang daisies are, too (at least they LOOK alive), but the pricey clematis I had shipped live from Oregon? Unless a miracle happens next spring, its really most sincerely dead. Maybe I should stick to flowers I know...or just all veggies and herbs...and those dang daisies the former gardener planted that won't die.
