...called the sheriff. Asked what we can do about the former neighbor's cat 'cause he's still around peeing on things and fighting. Gave them the wrong name for the ex-neighbor (but I'm sure they'll figure it out), and a description of the cat, and they said they might drive by and see if they can see him, then maybe go over and ask her if she has a cat. If she says 'no', he's free game to catch and take to a shelter. Since she went back and forth on whether he belonged to her when she was here, depending on whether it was convenient for her, we're hoping she'll tell the cops 'no'.
There is another tom around here that is a nuisance, but his owner claims him so there's nothing we can do. This one may have been abandoned for convenience, like Madeline was, and like the OTHER cat, a kitten, the woman had was. That kitten was taken in by my manager, tho she has a good home now.
I also gave the manager a heads up that the sheriff may ask her about it, and the woman may come back in all 'righteous' anger, regardless of whether or not she claims him to the sheriff.
Tomorrow may be...interesting.
