we can all muddle through without you

oh, the joys of My Fair Lady. such a wonderful film. audrey hepburn is like the fiftieth wonder of the world. there are so many... but she should definitely be considered one. she was so amazingly talented, i am constantly jealous of her beauty, her charm, and her talent. blah, blah. some memorable quotes from my viewing of My Fair Lady today:

Audrey as Eliza: "You'd better leave a note for the housekeeper about your coffee, for it won't be done by me!"
Rex as Henry: "Damn the housekeeper, damn the coffee, and damn you! ...and damn myself for wasting my time and energy on such a worthless guttersnipe as yourself!"
classic.

*

Rex as Henry: "Why can't a woman... be more like a man?"
because then YOU WOULDN'T LIKE US??

*

Rex as Henry: "You talk about me as if I were a motorbus!"
haha!

*

Audrey as Eliza: "When you feel lonely, you can listen to my voice on the grammophone. You won't miss me then."
Rex as Henry: "I can't turn your soul on..."
aww! they are so wonderful!

*

Rex as Henry: "You impudent hussy!"
hehe! what a thing to say to a girl!

*

Rex as Henry, the last line of the movie, as Eliza had returned to him and there is a tender feeling between them: "Where the devil are my slippers?"

*

aaah. such an escape, to completely sink into a movie, imagining myself in a place like London with people like Audrey and Rex... imagination is like the best invention EVER!

bye, yo!
