so after the slip'n slide fun, i dried off and worked on my room some more (it really looks good- i'm just tackling little piles of junk now) and then just got sick of it. i made another sign for the airport that says "welcome home, marcy!" and my mom was impressed with it. she really thinks i'm good at lettering! it feels really good to have someone admire you for something that you really don't think is that great. it feels really cool.
so then these mexican guys started cutting down part of our tree that was hanging right over our house (had a big storm come, it would have fallen on our roof, causing major damage) and they make a mess... then they work on our rent houses' trees, then the tree behind our garage, then they pull up the railroad ties that have been in our garden for 22 years... part of my childhood taken away. it looks really weird now... and sad. so the workers leave and- wow- that was an exciting hour.
so then my dad makes me help him work next door installing windows. fuuuun! and then he talks about this letter they received (in fortner's class, we all had to write letters to our parents and there was a line in mine saying, "thank you for making me believe that no man is good enough for me!" it was a joke...) and he says that he NEVER told me i was better than anyone else and that he is worried i am gonna grow up hating men and that men aren't bad, etc. and i'm like *I WAS JOKING!* dear lord, papa...
then we went out to eat at texas cafe... i had the "turkey deluxe" and it was tasty.
on the way home we stopped by val's cuz i needed to borrow this cutter thingy for scrapbooking... her dad was jet lagged on the couch. 'twas funny.
then mom took me to marchele's for this kind of not-really-get-together to say bye to jarod (he leaves for summer missions in los angeles tmrw) and it was fun. shell's little cousin mindy was there- i met here like a year ago at this dinner thing- and she's hilarious! and gerardo and guillermo, who goes to RICE and is my HEEEEERO... it was nice. we watched our lord of the rings project, val! haha! they thought it was vunderful!
so i was supposed to call my mom at 10, but as usual i forgot... and now i'm in trouble (right here in river city!) and i'm *irresponsible* and *can't handle priviledges* and i'm just a bad daughter and it'll be good when marcy's back and i have a good role model again... yeah mom. thanks.
* pools of sorrow, waves of joy... *
