living death or dead life?

i'm sinking back into the shadows.

tomorrow is prom, and i'm excited. i am. but not because of my date... because i can't wait to look pretty! i love going to dances- i always feel so elegant! this week has been very hectic. monday was the evil test on which i made a 10, tuesday was me being inducted as NHS secretary, wednesday was church and playing around in the courtyard "scaring the birds" that weren't really there, thursday was the drama picnic(more on that later!), and today was... the end. and the beginnning of a crazy weekend! tonight will hopefully be chick flick with valerie night, and tomorrow i have to tutor at the school from 8-12, then get my hair and make- up done at 2, then be ready at 5:30, then eat at tlc, then proooom! then sunday morning i'm in a really neat skit in church, then the youth picnic, then babysitting for 40 days of purpose. whew!

so, about the drama picnic... haha... rachel comes home with me from school and i give her a "make- over," then val's parents come by and we all go to flagpole hill, play around with drama people(the swings were extremely fun but they squeezed our hips and were mui mui painful!), blah... so here's the good part. jonathan, best friend from middle school, was using this cart that carried equipment for UIL, to RIDE DOWN THE HILL! he was steering with the thing and bouncing around... it looked so fun! so some other people did it, and some tipped over, etc. nothing big. me and val decided we wanted to do it, and we were like, "well jonathan's done it the most- so we'll have him steer and we'll sit behind him!" so this we did. i held on to him, and val held on to me. we were like WHEEEEEEEEE! it was SO fun! so we were over all the scary hills and almost to the bottom, feeling safe, when all of the sudden jonathan says, "hey-- watch out for this next bump! HOLD ONNNN!" and then BOOM! the cart flips over and rolls away, and the 3 of us slide(rather gently) onto the grass. we're all alive and still in the position we were in a sec ago- a very smooth fall- when i realize that my foot is hurting like LUCIFER! ooooh man! but back to the story... everyone in drama had been watching us from the top of the hill, ya know- "haha, 2 girls... good thing they're almost to the bottom! at least they didn't fall! etc." when they see the cart flip over and bounce around, and us on the ground... then they all come CHOPPING at FULL SPEED toward us, worried sick! (this makes us feel very important) one guy actually falls, he was running so fast, and hurts his knee! so they reach us and are all like ARE YOU OKAY?!?! OHMYGOSH!!! and we're like, "yeah. we're fine." when we both hurt our feet! val's cuticle on her right big toe has been ripped off, and underneath the nail it's bleeding! my foot got jammed into jonathan's leg or back, and it's bruised on the inside! so we both get up, walk like 5 feet, then collapse. after val's dad comes over to make sure we're alive (thanks, dad) we accept piggy-back rides from 2 guys(it was like THE HOBBITS!) up to the picnic tables, then we're carried damsel-in-distress style back to the pavilion. (all this is on tape by jonathan's mom! the crash looks AWESOME!) so, for the rest of the night, we hobble around and call ourselves gimp friends!

for the awards, val got BEST ACTRESS! YAY! and some patchwork junk... all-star and something else... and some kabukis... i got an assistantship for next year along with a toolbox that i'm gonna decorate with mary poppins pictures, a medal for tech, and a 3-year certificate. (mack forgot me on the list- he thought i'd only been in tech for 2 years... but later on in the awards he was like I FORGOT SOMEONE! and he still spelled my name wrong...)

it was an eventful evening.
