This morning I was watching the Travel Channel and Globe Trekker came on. The host was in Kowloon and Hong Kong. Suddenly, remembered I had saw a post from you about the city. :D
I'm glad I remembered and came back to see the photos and read what you wrote. Everytime I watch a show about Hong Kong, it makes me want to go there. I get so hungry to taste the life there.
I like the last photo of kowloon the best. Sort of like a building hiding behind a veil. :)
Also, I like the song you attached to the end of this post.
I am glad the entry reminded you of Kowloon, Ben. You must visit Hong Kong one day. It's truly a magical place. It's charming, and full of mystery waiting to to explored.

I like the song you attached to the end of this post. I liked the song too. It's from a rare soundtrack in which Michelle Yeoh was in it called The Touch (a movie which flopped but the soundtrack is brilliant!)
I think that is part of the lure of Hong Kong to me, I feel there is something for me to find, some unknown part of myself that I can explore.

Acutally, I do. I nearly mentioned that in my original post. Life behind an embroidered screen. In a lot of my writings, I put people behind screens or hide them behind veils and curtains.

Cool. I like hearing the little gems out there that few know about. There is an American movie "Xanadu" with Gene Kelly and Olivia Newton-John that is like that. THe movie was a flop, but the soundtrack is really good.
Hong Kong is a huge place. Two weeks were not even enough for me to explore. I have a great feeling you will find yourself there. It's tourist friendly and this city has not lost its culture and identity in the midst of the development.
Oh Ben! I have watched the film Xanadu and heard of the Olivia Newton-John song. If I'm not mistaken it has some fantasy (magic) in it right?

That's great. I think a lot of places do lose something along the way. I really have the urge to go there. I want to live there a month! And just soak everything in.
:D It does have fantasy and magic in it! I think it's so cool that you have watched the movie, as well. If you ever want the soundtrack, I'll burn you a copy.
I remember watching Xanadu when I was a little kid.. hehehe. I think the film is made in the year I was born. What amazed me back then (what I vaguely remember) was the lead actress (was it Olivia?) drove into a wall and ended up somewhere..
She had on roller skates and skated into a wall and ended up in some realm where Zues lived. She was a Muse from Greek myth, who falls in love with a man, who opens a roller disco. It's one of those movies that just defies explination.
