Just Like Heaven

It's approaching 3a.m and I'm still unable to sleep. It was quite the opposite last night - I fell asleep next to the laptop, totally uncovered by the quilt, with the air-conditioning blasting at 18°C. The past one week I was tremendously overwhelmed by a hive of activity, starting with a week's visit by my ex-classmate from KL, Anthony. For some undisclosed reasons, my brain already thinks that's one lame name. No offence to anyone by the same name. Blame it on my last Hongkong trip. That's another story I have procrastinated on writing.

Anyway, let's stop focussing on that for a while and let's talk about today. I got up at 0525H in the morning, in a foetal position shivering, and then regained my consciousness for a short while, grabbed the double-layer covers I folded neatly earlier in the morning to cover myself and got back to sleep. 0635H - I got up feeling charged, and did some push-ups. Notice the word, SOME? Yes, it's what I have been doing on and off for the last 2 weeks. I had comments from many people that I have gained weight and that was a good change. To them, they thought I'm getting healthier and more vibrant. To me, I'm really getting fat because I could feel myself getting lazy, and I could feel my tummy growing more obviously.

Throughout the day, for some strange reasons, I got lots of attention from ladies. I don't know if it had to do with my dress sense or I have zit on my face. I didn't pay attention to the guys though, oddly. I just noticed the girls. In the bus on the way home after a movie with Ben, I swear I spotted at least 6 girls looking at me for more than a second, till I looked back. One sweet looking Caucasian, brunette didn't stop looking at me even when I glanced back at her. Abashed by the attention from that sweet young thing, I turned to the mobile TV direction showing PROJECT RUNWAY on TCS 5. Periodically, I stole some glances at her. And to my disbelieve, she was still looking at me. Perhaps she was looking at my direction but the focus wasn't me. Perhaps. But her eye contact sure got me fooled.

Another sweet young thing caught my attention for the whole 2 hours. It took form in the disguise of a 5"6' woman who starred in this sweet, romantic film fit for couples wanting to ignite their romantic night. The name is Reese Witherspoon. And she was a wandering spirit who found love during the absence from her body. The whole plot was convincing enough to engage me into laughters, chuckles and awe. The music and, the touchy moments executed by Mark Ruffalo did flutter my heart for a great few seconds on and off, throughout. Nothing beats the good ol' happy ending with a kiss of life. Just Like Heaven.
