Now I can breathe again

For the rest of the summer I promise my sinuses  I will take allergy meds and decongestants. Now can we get on to soaping? Yes? Beautiful. Soap planned for today is a smaller test batch to see how a new fragrance oil behaves. The scent is really quite nice. It is basil and lemon. It's very clean smelling. Provided it behaves, the colours will be ( Read more... )

How'd today's soap-making go, Lady Moon?

It worked perfectly. Setting up in the mold at the moment. Project of the moment is sewing some cushions.

Machine. I loathe hand stitching and do it as little as possible.

*snerk* i'm far better off with hand stitching. i tend to kill any sewing machine i touch. needles have been known to shatter and the remnants grow WINGS. :(

Lol. You stay away from Precious then. He is far to valuable to be corrupted.

*snickers* as you command...
omg, TELL me that's an LOTR ref! *squees thinking of golum, hugging a sewing machine in a far too creepy manner, catching 'lovely fish' for his Precious*
oh holy frag. *facepalms* one of our (not-quite)feral kittehs just ran in front of my chair, dragging his tail thru my cigarette... O.O
yah, he's fine. didn't do more than singe the fur. he's not a very bright kitteh... *shakes head*

It is a LOTR ref. I don't let anyone touch this thing. It's a slightly more expensive machine and not readily replaceable given I do not have infinite funds. So I hug the precious.

The cat may be none too bright.

Singer brand? my gmother and mum haven't bought one yet, that wasn't a Singer.
ROFL! that last line killed me, seemed like an odd fortune you'd get from a fortune cookie! 'The cat may be none too bright...'
my fave fortune i've ever gotten was actually a Tom Robbins quote, and is thrillingly foreboding, 'The universe does not have trends, it has habits; and habits can be broken.'

Actually it's a Husqvarna. I've used Singers but I love my Husqvarna. Sewn most of my years on this brand. Drop in bobbin, it is so nice.

Lol. I am the cat fortune cookie. That's a good fortune. The game my friends and I play is every time we read a fortune we add "in bed" at the end. Makes for some great laughs.

Husqvarna make excellent anything. It is a sturdy machine. I've had it for five years. My serger is less awesome but it only cost 200 to the sewing machine's 600 so I don't mind.

The game is fun. Especially when you start laughing hysterically in a restaurant and the wait staff all thing you're crazy.

yes, they certainly do! my store sells chainsaws and mowers and tillers and such from Husqvarna, so i can just imagine the kind of balls their sewing machines would have O.O
*snerk* yah, any time one can disturb hot, asian waiters is good *grins deviously* i used to go eat at a restaurant next door to my old job, and i would take yaoi manga to read while i ate...

Lol. My favourite Chinese restaurant was by my college, been torn down for transit construction. But the waiters were always exasperated with the crazy white students that came.

the misfortune of east texas is that there are only 3 main choices for ethnicity. white(usually kinda trashy), hispanic(not-quite-english-speaking), and african-american(from louisiana, bayou-types: who are far more polite and tolerable than the white ppl). and by tolerable, i mean that i have an anti-social!Sunstreaker type of mindset...i don't like being around ppl in general... =^.^= it's why i prefer tech/cust support over retail.

Lol. Here we have mostly white, wealthy, and trashy and in between, vietnamese, chinese, taiwanese, korean, first nations, some sikhs and some african americans and hispanics. It's a suburb of Vancouver. Very multi-cultural.

I'm friendlier than Sunstreaker but I'm not a people person. Don't want to work in retail again. Tech support is not my skill set. So I'll probably end up in retail but I will be very selective where I work.
