Reflecting on the radio from the shower this morning. I never want to see 'the day that nobody dies'. I believe strongly in the transitivity of life around here and I don't think we should ever become immortal. Longer lifespans, possibly. 300 year old people are ugly. O_o

My impression is that, the older you get, the harder it is for you to adapt. There's a reason why parents ask their kids to set up their computers. I think it is for the good of humanity to keep producing new generations, lest we get trapped by old solutions to new problems.

That may be the case now, but I do not see why it is an inherent part of sentient existence nor that it is impossible for that fact to change.

Maybe. But I think that it will take longer to change that than it will take us to come up with some sort of weak immortality. And once we've got weak immortality without better adaptability, it will take even longer to change.

Of course, I'm just making stuff up now, but I think my scenario here is a danger that's worth noting.
