I have been meaning to write for a bit. Obviously, I forgot. Anyway, to the story.
Everyone knows about my obsessive reading. If it is print, I have to read it. (Handwriting I can usually resist, unless it is my husband's and in my notebook.) I was changing Mara the other day and decided to read the green wavy lines of print on her diaper, (a clean, not on my child one). I expected to read "night night", "go to sleep", "playtime", all of the banal stuff that I have read before on diapers. Nope. It was the lyrics to John Lennon's "Imagine". On cheap Walmart diapers no less. Chris found the copyrights to Lennon's wife/(widow whatever...)on the package later. I must admit to being surprised that it wasn't more obvious on the packaging. After all the John Lennon baby collection at BabiesRus is pretty obvious. They have just about every important baby gadget, plus clothes. They all either play "Imagine" or have some of the lyrics written on them. And the cute animal drawings on everything are apparently Lennon's drawings from when his son was born. Mara actually has two Lennon onsies that I found in her drawers. (With the amount of baby clothes she got, I wasn't paying too much attention when I put them away. We even have Baby Gap.) The onsies are cute and all. Even kinda neat. But good grief. Diapers??! Anyway, there is my mother's rant.
