The week and all the details of it...

1. My upstairs neighbors had a "welcome to the neighborhood" party for me with a bunch of the folks who live on my street. It was the sweetest thing offered to me this week! They had wine, cheese, snacks and about 10 adults and kids showed up. Anya got to play with the kids and I got to talk schools, music and the neighborhood with the adults.

2. Spent a delicious day on Monday gardening and gardening. I have organized the exisiting planting beds and now have lettuce (LOTS and LOTS of lettuce, salad anyone?) and beans planted and soon I will add sunflowers, beets, carrots, string beans, peas, basil and tomatoes when my starts get big enough to go into the ground (and big enough to fend off the hungry snails). I also fixed up the gross area at the bottom of the stairs leading to the street. It was a 4x5 plot of dirt and weeds and looked horrible! I threw in some soil, added about 10 plants and flowers and potted up a bouganvilla and hooked it up to a really cool trellis I got. I think I just added about $10,000 to the landlords resale value if he ever sells (and let's hope he doesn't!)

3. Anya and Tobias went camping for a few days at the Russian River. I am so glad they got a huge chunk of time together to hang out. They are due back today. I also got 48 hours to myself and I used it well! Aside from gardening, I finally fixed or dealt with a few massive projects I have been putting off due to the amount of time it would take me to do them. I feel refreshed and invigorated by that.

4. Still spending a lot of time with "That Man". I feel so blessed to have become friends with him, as I really dig deep, platonic friendships with guys. I find that eventually I would like to "get physical", but I am in no hurry and the friendship is more important to me than anything else, so I am not pushing anything else. I think things will happen in time...

home, time to myself, garden, men
