And for your Viewing Pleasure (dot dot dot)...

Dear journal, Over the last week I had a technician come out to look at my 42" panasonic Projection TV as its been out of color convergence for months now, and finally I had some extra moolah to potentially get it fixed. The technician did come out... and suggested I get the convergence towers replaced, which would be in and around $300. (The two towers were getting power, but not correcting the color alignment). My TV looked normally how most 3-D movies look without the groovy RED & BLUE glasses. End result - Meh and a migraine. HA!

I agreed initially. So he proceeded to remove the Main board with the chips attached to send in to manufacturer. And Voila, Vas Is Dis? Here beneath the circuit board, revealed now that it is removed...
A wee rat... FRIED! And once flipped over, it is also realized that the circuit board, where the little critter touched, was fried too...

Yes, folks... there you have it... an example of one of the most expensive Mousetraps on the Western Hemesphere.. Meh!

So.. We ditched the plan of repairing, as the cost of the repair met or exceeded the cost of just buying a brand new TV. So that is what i did. I found a nifty deal on a 46" (Upgraded size) Plasma HDTV.. for $535 out the door...

would have been a bit more, but (apparantly) I was the 1000th customer that day/month, so I got an additional 15% taken off the cost of the Set. Nice. Anyway... Woohoo new TV.. Gone is the day of the Mystery Science fiction theater commontary of the mysterious Tri-colored 3-eyed beasts that once dwelled my living room...
