visiting the land of obama was nice. i learned a few things.
one is that for the st. patrick's day parade they dye the freaking river green.
two is that illinois is proud to be the home of obama
three is that i heart obama a lot. (kinda already knew that)
four is that the whole place is flat, seriously flat.
things i did:
saw amish people
ate at white castle
ate chicago style pizza
got some plates from the pizza place (cuz the location was closing soon)
read lots of trashy/gossip/fashion magazine in various airports
woke up to crazy ass saturday morning cartoons
saw a street named "touhy" couldnt figure out how to pronounce it
drove through the projects, think i saw a drug deal, also thought i saw someone getting wacked. friends said it was not really happening.. but you never know.
celebrated my irish heritage since the st. patrick's day parade was today
played a game called "does timmy know that guy?" since all the other navy graduates were wondering the same areas we were. (it is kind of along the lines of "homeless or college student" in santa cruz)
various other things as well.
but let me tell you how my day trip to chicago was all worth it when i saw my timmy. he is so teensy now cuz he has lost hella weight. he was not even that fat to begin with, but a solid kinda guy. but now he is teensy. but i got to see my timmy! so proud. so worth it. especially cuz adam understood.
more later. i'm kinda tired.
obama land,
friends,
you pronounce that how?
