It doesn't take long for Ami to realize she's not in the home of the Air Nomads any longer, Immediately, a ball of water is resting in her hand, her steps slow and careful. As she walks, frost slowly creeps over the bottom of the ball, ice forming. "What trickery is this?" she murmurs quietly to herself

Mizuno Ami, age seventeen, is quietly seated on a small couch with a sandwich and pile of books. When she spots someone who looks exactly like her, her face freezes for several moments before her eyes widen slightly.

[icebending]

When she sees her double, Ami freezes, eyes narrowing in defense as she pulls more water around her, adding to the amount in her hands. "Who are you?" she demands.

"I am Mizuno Ami," she says by way of introduction. She waits politely for this clone to provide the same courtesy.

[icebending]

That just makes her even more defensive. "You share my name, my face. Why?"

"I am sorry; it was unexpected for me, also." Ami says the words calmly enough, looking curiously at this other-self. She has enough sense, now, to notice tiny differences between them. But then what could explain this? Or the water?

[icebending]

Clenching a fist, the water fizzles into steam and evaporates, floating away. "What is this place?" she asks; this girl, who looks so much like her, should at least have some answers.

A look at her (new) surroundings, and then back to the other-Ami. "I have never been here before," she says. She seems rather calm about that fact.

"Do you not recognize it?" How unusual. "It resembles an entryway at school, but it is not the same."

[icebending]

"School?" she asks, brow furrowing, "What school?"

"I attend Jyuban High School, in the Azabu district."

[icebending]

"I've never heard of such a place." Ami raises her chin a bit, trying appraise just what kind of world her double comes from.

"You must not be from Tokyo," Ami guesses. It's not like Jyuban is a famous school or anything, but someone from the same city should at least know it. "Where are you from?"

[icebending]

"I'm from the Water Tribe," she replies, not bothering to say that she probably isn't part of that anymore, "I'm an "Icebender."

Between the water she'd seen a few minutes earlier, and the word itself, she doesn't need a definition. "Very impressive," Ami remarks.

[icebending]

"You can't do anything like that?" she asks, "What do you do, then?"

I am Jyuban's rose bride.

[icebending]

"Rose Bride...? So another arranged marriage?" Ami bristles at this, her fists clenching.
