Nephrite is in a particularly good mood. He has trained quite vigorously today, and his appetite has been appeased. He thinks about going back to the Dark Kingdom's forest - there are lots of young trees to murder in the name of sword practice - and, seeing nothing wrong with that, follows through with his plan.
Perhaps he should have remembered that him being in a particularly good mood usually leads to... undesirable results.
