Nephrite is on a quest to regain his Shitennou powers again.
He's damned tired of feeling sorry for what he has become. If this place can offer a chance for him to get back what he has lost, then by all means he will do whatever it takes.
If Nephrite succeeds, then he will surely make people pay dearly for the shame he has endured.
...yes, that

As if he needs to ask. He is holding those visions of success, acceptance, restored power, position, everything right in front of Nephrite's nose. The boy is probably all but salivating, metaphorically. For a moment, a twist of that easy casual callousness suggests pulling it all away, laughing in the boy's face and leaving him to his own troubles as Kunzite has done often enough before.
But this is different. Nephrite is proving more... reasonable. He is willing to forswear Beryl (finally). He has, to Kunzite's knowledge at least, no ridiculous loyalty to the Master, either. Besides, Kunzite has more or less given his word by now.
"Very well," he says aloud, as if coming to a decision. "We, the shitennou of this world, were able to increase our power by finding the part of our stones Beryl had hidden away. "For you, Canada," he says off-hand. Why, yes, they've gotten them, and Nephrite might want to consider the idea of a full shitennou with that additional power, and make appropriate adjustments in his tendency to constantly challenge Kunzite.

"Can't you just... teleport me or something? Using a plane seems very complicated, and hardly needed."

No, he thoroughly expects Nephrite to do his own work. If he accomplishes anything, it should be under his own efforts. As callous as he seems, the realization that Nephrite needs to feel his own success has not escaped him.

"Shouldn't you be hurrying?" she suggests.

"I don't know how to do... um, what to do with a plane." Seriously, he has NO IDEA.
How Kunzite manages to do so will probably forever escape him.

"Mercury. You enjoy the human world, hm? Do you wish to accompany him?"
