Trouble with a capital T, and that rhymes with P, and that stands for PallaPalla.

Once again, one of the blue-haired girls with baubles upon her head has found her way into the large multipurpose room where strange things happened before. The area is set up much differently than it had been. Rather than looking like an over-sized living room, the couches and chairs have been moved into loosely formed rows all facing a stage ( Read more... )

Stage crashing! Usagi enters on the right side of the stage, looking rather down. She glances over at Ami for a few moments before looking at where the audience would be and speaking, even though it doesn't seem to refer to the audience. "Ami-chan, you're really leaving, aren't you? And.. the last thing you'll remember is fighting with Usagi."

After that, she looks down at the floor and starts singing what doesn't seem to be a very energetic or happy song for once in a soft voice.

"The time to cry has come. 'I understand it's very important to you..' At least, that's that I wanted to say. Everyone is leaving... A young girl's time of innocence, it cannot continue.. I say I understand this, but, but today we suddenly have to part.."

Now Usagi looks up at the audience again, in a louder voice and visibly sad. "'Sorry about that day!' If only I could have said that. 'Thank you for everything!' If only I could have said that. I hope you have memories of this town, but I'll become a lonely Usagi."

The following part is then more softly again, and the pauses between the lines become slightly longer. But her volume increases when the song furthers, back to regular volume around 'thank you'. "It's important... It's important... You're all important to me. Farewell and thank you.. 'Sorry about that day!' If only I could have said that. 'Thank you for everything!' If only I could have said that. I hope you have memories of this town, but I'll become a lonely Usagi."

Why does Usagi do this? Why does she only make everything so much harder? Why are they singing?

At first, she manages to keep her calm quite well as Ami turns and sings to Usagi, confirming what the other girl has just said herself:

"I'm going now, Usagi-chan."

Because apparently they can only have these kind of conversations through movie quotes and songs.

Well, there's only one appropriate answer to that, right?

"Sayonara.."

As long as they keep it like this, as long as it's just goodbye, even if it's such a permanent goodbye, it's fine. But something comes out again, through a frustrated and tight throat.

"If I had seen your face..."

Just once, just once if she'd seen them, if they'd been there, if she hadn't had to face Kunzite alone and hear 'they won't help you' and know he was right. If they'd just been there...

"And arigatou.."

'Thank you.' For being her friend? For always helping her? For putting up with her? For that time she had nearly turned into a youma and Ami-chan had watched over her? Just 'thank you' wasn't probably even giving enough thanks for that.

"...it would have been too painful and I wouldn't be able to leave."

The frustration is building, and with it that poorly-restrained emotion. Ami is so caught up in these thoughts that she hasn't even heard what Usagi's singing right with her, in perfect and bitter harmony somehow. Too late, too late. The words fly at each other anyway, missing each other in the air.

Because... because she can't really be that horrible person who could just turn on everyone for nothing, right?

"It isn't a time for feeling sorrow."

That's right, if it's Ami-chan's decision to take that road, if that's what makes Ami-chan happy in the end.. Why should she feel so sad about it? But she still can't stop that feeling, even if she wants to. Maybe that's why she never stops trying, no matter how many times this Ami-chan tells her she doesn't want to be friends.

How many times has she wandered into the human world, searching vaguely and vainly for something that always stays just out of her reach? How many times has she seen that amusement park, the school, its rooftop, the apartment she grew up in? Something about her has never been able to give up these places.

"My heart will always be here!"

If only it weren't; it might be more frustration and anger than longing in her voice. Softer:

"But, don't cry, be well."

This Usagi, this one, this one, not the one she knew. Another one. One who might have a chance to live except believing so is impossible! But she can at least say those words right now.

Completely caught up in their own part, they might not even hear each other's words. Or perhaps they do. Only time will tell.

"My heart seems like it's ripping apart!" There's a look of pain on Usagi's face as she sings it.

Meeting so many alternate versions of her friends in this nexus, and then some of them telling her that they don't want to be friends or don't recognize her.. It hurts! She couldn't imagine herself without her best friends anymore by now. Ami-chan, Rei-chan, Mako-chan.. They were all important to her. Any versions of them. This Ami-chan as well.

For a very brief moment, something wavers in her expression. Then it's gone. She can't. She's not angry, not right now, but she just... can't stay or accept that. The most she can do is stand here like this, talking or singing or whatever they're doing, without a fight. She half expects to see Kunzite here to take her away as it is.

With a deep breath as if she's steeling herself for something, Ami squares her shoulders and prepares to walk away.

"Sayonara!"

Usagi notices this, just slightly, and calls out the other's name. She can't walk away, not now..!

"Ami-chan!" A very short pause. "Wait for me! Until the day that we meet again."

Somehow her voice joins Usagi's at the same moment.

"Wait for me! Until the day that we meet again..."

A shared wish, for just that one moment.
