And it doesn't take too long before a Usagi wanders into the room, looking around curiously. However, when she opens her mouth to say something, she doesn't quite say what she intended to. "My Mama always said, 'Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get'."

Huh. That was weird. Usagi looks a bit confused now.

Ok, she doesn't even know where that came from. Actually, she wasn't even thinking it. In fact, her sword isn't even out right now. Mercury gives Usagi a rather confused look.

Usagi is right there with you in the confusion, Mercury. A big smile appears on her face though in a few moments. Hey, now they both were here anyway, they could just have fun, right? She opens her mouth again. "My Mama always said you've got to put the past behind you before you can move on."

Usagi is silent as she tries to figure out why she keeps mentioning things her mom never actually said.

...Wut? It's true, but... wut? She doesn't need that advice of Usagi's and it's far, far too late anyway, but... wut?

Somehow, somewhere this conversation makes sense. Even though the two of them are more confused than they've ever been during a conversation and that's saying a lot in this nexus.

"But I never thanked you for saving my life."

... Why did she just bring that up again? Wait, she didn't.

"It was a bullet, wasn't it? That jumped up and bit you."

Well, that's true, but yet again, her mother never said anything like that!

Just a part of life? She won't accept that. But she's no longer sure just what she thinks of fate.

"I don't know if we each have a destiny, or if we're all just floatin' around accidental-like on a breeze."

Ok, she could have phrased that with a lot more... dignity. She's looking a bit confused still, but it's quickly crossing to irritated. Give her back her own words!

"I think maybe it's both. Maybe both is happening at the same time."

Well, at least Mercury seems just as confused as she is. Is something messing with their words, with their heads? Maybe a youma? Usagi looks around, trying to spot what is causing them to say these things.

Just tell her it's not a youma. All of this, all the mess between them, a mix of destiny and chance? A mix of destiny and making their own fate? Maybe that doesn't matter, either. The more it keeps going, the more it seems like it can't stop even if she wanted it to. Like the further she goes, she further she'll go. Somehow it's easier to explain that out-of-control too-far feeling when the words 'aren't really hers

Running? Usagi doesn't really understand what Mercury's trying to say at first, but then she seems to understand. She doesn't really know what has happened in the other's world lately and she wonders if Mercury knows what's happening in her's, but it doesn't really matter. Mercury is an Ami-chan, and any Ami-chan is a friend. Especially this one, who she has known for so long. She has a big smile on her face as she speaks.

"If there's anything you need, I won't be far away."

"Mama said not to be taking rides from strangers."

Ok, her mama never said that any more than Usagi's mama said any of those other things. Well, alright, she probably did at some point, but...

"And that's all I have to say about that." But the stubbornness might be another flash of annoyance at this weird... whatever is happening... than Usagi directly.

Still, the smile can't be wiped off her face.

"I'm Usagi, Tsukino Usagi and you're Ami-chan. Well, now we ain't strangers anymore!"

... That would make more sense if they had been strangers in the first place. This is only getting weirder and weirder.

Usagi wonders why she had just shouted that out. Besides, how does one disassemble a sword in the first place?
