It is the Silver Millennium. Sort of. The time is during the Silver Millennium, but the place is Earth. The Golden Kingdom, the pinnacle of ancient culture, nobility, science, and...slavery

Right. Right... Actually, she was whatever Beryl said she was if it meant Beryl wouldn't attack her. She really didn't want to get into that right now.
For that matter, Beryl was acting almost friendly, which was pretty confusing.
"A guest... I really kind of came here accidentally. I don't even know where this is!"
Well, friendly isn't exactly what we'd call Beryl. But she isn't hostile either. At least not to this girl, whoever she was. Not yet.
"You're in the house of one of the richest men of the Golden Kingdom. A moneylender to the king himself." The sound of crystal and china can be heard through the room from the kitchen. "You'd best pretend you've heard of them, lest you offend my lady."
"Ah- right!" Usagi managed a nervous smile. Oh, crap; she just knew this was going to end in something broken and having to pay for it and she did not have enough money for that. She eyed her surroundings, now, as if the valuable ornaments were plotting to jump onto the floor and smash themselves into pieces just to make sure this happened.
Usagi doesn't want Beryl in trouble for someone she didn't do, either!
"Is he really important?" It was, she realized immediately, a pretty obvious question, if he had a home like this and servants. A money-lender, Beryl had said. "Sorry. I wonder if Rei-chan's father would know. He's in politics."
"Yes," The slave replies dryly. "I'm quite certain I've already said that."
How she could sass a guesst...well, her mistress wasn't there to listen. She was feeling a bit brave, and she had the feeling this guest wasn't going to tattle on her.
"That's why I'm surprised," Usagi admits, having already come this far. "I only... heard of the Golden Kingdom before. I didn't know I was actually... here. I guess I got lost again." She tries a laugh. It sounds nervous.
"Beryl?!" Oh crap why was she right here in front of Beryl this wasn't good and no one else was even with her oh crap.

"P-princess?!" One of the slaves, however, recognized Usagi. "Mistress! The moon princess!!"

"Please don't make such a fuss." That was probably about as likely.

"You don't even know who my master is. Rather unusual."

"Golden Kingdom?!" Yes, Usagi, that was amply covered. Not to mention equally suspicious now.

Meanwhile, the smell of caviar and roast lamb begins to fill the air.

"Well, you also got quite lucky." At this, Beryl motioned towards the direction of the smell. "My lady seems to think you're quite important."
