A Very Daimon Halloween

Rei comes onto the scene having gotten a vision about the attack. She looked at the scene before her, noticing the passed out adults and running, screaming children. No time for hesitation!

"MARS POWER MAKE UP!"

Transformed, she steps out into the light. "I am Sailor Mars, senshi of fire and in the name of Mars, I'll punish you!" she does her trademark pose.

This isn't time to wonder why Rei can transform again. Venus decides it must be the nexus.

"Mars, let's go." Venus slips herself in right beside Mars. When did she arrive?

The daimon, a pirate this time, brandishes its hook-hand at the two girls- and the hook flies off the hand and straight for them both.

Mars gasps seeing the hook coming towards her as she flips out of the way of it.

[loves_la_vie]

Venus spins to the side and readies her chain.

"Don't try cheap attacks like that!" she tells the daimon. She takes a cartwheel or two to get closer to it, and strikes out with a strong kick.

The daimon holds out its hand, and the hook speeds back through the air to re-attach itself. The pirate lunges towards the girls.

"Oh no you don't! BURNING MANDELA!" she fires the attack towards the daimon

Venus scurries into position.

"Rolling Heart Vibration!" She gestures against the air, and sends the heart at the daimon right as Mars' attack hits it, too.

The daimon howls and shrieks with pain as both attacks hit it at once, and it explodes into nothingness. The egg falls to the ground and cracks open- revealing a small stash of candy.

With a simple fireball, she quickly melts the candy down, not caring to know what effect it would have on anyone

Throughout the nexus, innumerable Usagis everywhere suddenly have a terrible feeling of opportunity lost.

Venus, however, remains dispassionate. She barely gives the burnt mound a second look. "Mars," she moves to the practical and more urgent matters instead, "Can you sense any of the enemy still here?"

"No, they're all gone, Venus," Mars tells her.

[loves_la_vie]

A nod. Good.

"Then we're finished here," Venus says. "Shall we go?" She starts to walk away, though in contrast to their early days, she goes slow enough for Rei to easily follow.

The other nods following after her easily.

"Mars, what were you doing before you came here today?" This is not the idle question it seems like. It's a way to check whether Rei is really from the nexus, as Venus suspects, and how much Rei probably knows about things like Minako's own identity.

"I was in the temple, doing fire readings and next, I'm here," she explains.
