He feels something strange, something unusual or perhaps simply not as it should be - though he does not realize himself what it is, unaware of the forces shaping and rewriting the memories of this very world itself. Zoisite stares around him, vaguely perplexed. He spies Usagi and seems to take notice of her.
The princess seems more distressed than he's typically seen her; he's aware of her reputation for hysterics, but this seems to go beyond a torn sleeve or a thwarted trip sneaking out of the palace.
He's heard of some of the horrors from the future, the Dark Kingdom, but he hasn't heard anything like that before. And if something with the power that term 'erase' implies has access to the nexus, there will be danger for the master.
And thus, he assumes an enemy has taken the life of a friend of the princess. "Memories are not wholly lost," he says, phrased as simple fact more than to comfort Usagi. "That is where she will remain."
A question he wouldn't normally ask comes from his lips as he thinks of Venus: "Who was it?"
It doesn't interest him enough to offer to restore the memories of the princess' other friends - and besides, even if he did, whatever power had erased them would surely simply do it again. No, he takes away relief that the victim was not Venus, and leaves it at that.
"And so you miss her?" he asks, as if the question is of no particular importance.
"I do. Because I will never be able to see her again and no one else in the world will even remember she existed. It will just be me. Even during the honeymoon."
"The master is not planning to be wed to Risa." Zoisite is a master of the obvious, at least when those around him seem not to be. He is also often accused of not taking the people around him into consideration enough; it may be true.

She stops as she gets out of the phone booth.
"Zoi...cite?"

"You are lost?" is his first guess.

"No. Yes. But not like that."

"What has happened?" he asks directly. For the master's sake, if nothing else, he must try to return her to her home and help her now, he supposes.

"Yet you are still troubled," Zoisite observes. This is, at least, a chance to unburden herself.
