"You're pretty merciful." With no one hurt, there's no discomforting issue to stop her faint amusement. Mercury steps into the full light from where she'd been watching. She angles her body strongly towards Makoto.

Makoto shrugged. "I wanted to see if any of them wanted to accept the truth," she said simply, "Of course, they called me crazy when I said it. But I can't be fooled; I remember."

If only Makoto could know how ironic it is. It had been Jupiter that Mercury actually tried to tell the truth to. She hadn't believed it. She'd said that even if it were true, they'd find 'another way'. The endless naive faith of the sailor senshi. Mercury's faith had been drenched in darkness.

"So what will you do?" she asks lightly.

"Keep fighting," she replied, "Until the Princess can't threaten the world anymore."

"Mako-chan!" Usagi hurries over towards Makoto, catching just enough to form an entirely wrong impression as she hadn't seen who 'got away'.

"Mako-chan, was it a daimon?" She looks quickly in all directions, but she doesn't hear or see anything. Of course not; Makoto wouldn't have de-transformed otherwise, right?

Her again... She couldn't tell her the truth.

"Yeah," replied the brunette with a nod, "I'll get it next time."

"Shouldn't we go after it?" Not that she particularly wants to (fighting is still scary), but they can't let it hurt people, either.
