"I'll finish it soon." Kunzite makes an entirely flippant bow to the so-called queen, and turns with a flare of his cape to leave an angry Jadeite and Nephrite behind him. He can feel Beryl's thoughtful stare at his back, the attention those two fools crave and that he'd rather do without.
Ironic, that. He strides purposely from the room, trying not to laugh at the witch encouraging him to bring about her own demise until he's alone.
Kunzite wonders, idly, how long he can keep putting Beryl off. Well, it won't matter in the end. He'll allude vaguely to his great project and once he's done, she'll be able to do nothing. The thought is a very pleasant one.
Besides, by then, Sailor Moon will be in his hands. And Mercury (again, at last). Mercury's own misguided devotion to her friend will put them both into his hands, and he doubts they'll ever know it was his intention from the first. Even the princess will eventually be his - whoever she may be.
The tunnels are far more familiar than he'd like them to be as Kunzite makes his way to the isolated chamber in their cold depths, never dreaming he'd be interrupted on the way.
