Annoying tiger-pants
Mizuno Ami is confronted walking down the street, trying to read a book. Her admirer (a drunk, she assumes at first) is generous. He praises her eyes, her lips, her legs, and she plays up to it, enjoying the attention and the compliments. Just to drive him on further, she keeps the book in front of her face and gives him only half her attention.
It works more than she expected. It works more than she's comfortable with. Ami frowns, and becomes defensive instead of playful. The guy gets frustrated, and increasingly persistent. She snaps at him several times, but he won't go away and won't get out of her way. Ami finds herself eyeing the street for which way to go if she slips past him.
"You're supposed to be a bookworm type!" Tiger's-Eye complains, annoyed. She should be an easy victim, shy putty in his hands for all the romantic little words! And it's entirely all her fault.
"I'm reading," Ami returns coldly. Is that bookworm enough for him? "Let me finish this book."
He can work with this! Plan B. His tone becomes wheedling. "I'm very interested in what you're reading. What is it?" He comes close as he speaks, and it's too close for Ami's comfort. He reaches out to take her in his arms. She moves. He follows. She pushes him away. He steps closer still.
This isn't going well. Save Ami?
She slaps him hard, right across the face, her own face tight with anger; and he pulls back to put a hand to the stinging red mark.
