He really doesn't know how he ended up here. This is not the nexus' fault. Somehow Nephrite (not Nefukichi-kun!) is working at Crown Karaoke on the half-charity of some crazy human boy who doesn't seem to mind if Nephrite shouts or threatens him or breaks the dishes (again). Nephrite decides the Nexus has taken today to make a list of People He Would Not Want To See (Kunzite is totally at the top) and plopped all of them right here to see the pathetic misery of his current existence. The realization is enough to calm him down, though. He puts the mop sulkily to one side instead of throwing it (an improvement already!) and looks warily at his alternate.

They could throttle him together. One hand on either side of Motoki's neck and squeeze. Of course, then Makoto would probably show up. Damn it! This won't work either!!

Nothing ever does, for him. Maybe that's what makes him so mopey, the thought of just how many plans hadn't worked before Beryl finally decided to end his chances to fail.

"There's nothing to train for," the younger of the two emo boys says. "I wouldn't have anything to do even if I got them back." This from the guy screeching about wanting them back a second ago.

He's just frustrated.

That part had been Beryl's fault. But somewhere among Kunzite escaping from it all and just turning up to taunt or get in their way, Zoisite sticking to his piano and (Nephrite knows now) his master, and Jadeite even turning out to have known about all the plans going on behind his back...

Yeah. They're nothing.

"...Do I have to punch you?!" Fist clench! "That's not true! Yeah, they were drifting apart, but at least you have them!"

A pause. Maybe he said too much. But then again, maybe he didn't care because his alternate was being an idiot about it.

"So get them back together! Who cares if you're human. Who cares if you wield a damn mop. You're still Nephrite!"

No. No punching is needed. Nephrite can barely get up the curiosity to even wonder what his alternate's talking about. At least he has them, huh? Get them back together, huh?

"I don't think we were together anyway," he protests. "We weren't really a team or anything like that. Maybe that was Beryl's fault but even if she's gone, it doesn't suddenly change that."
