"Where is it this time?!" Nephrite is not amused to find himself standing in the middle of some tiny, cramped, human apartment. He glares at Mamoru as if this is all his fault, without realizing just who he's glaring at to begin with.

"Speak up!! Where is this?!"

Oh shit. Zoisite coming, or even Kunzite, is one thing... But Nephrite? Mamoru has no doubts about the angry shitennou's loyalties, and has no desire to face off against him here, in his tiny apartment. So he jumps to his feet immediately, eyes narrowed as he looks at the other man, and readies himself to move.

"Nephrite."

"Huh?" Knowing his name gets Nephrite to take another look at the (puny human) guy who was here before him. Oh man!

There's no way he'll answer that it's his own home that's been invaded, if Nephrite doesn't realize it. Which, of course, brings the question of how the hell the shitennou got there, and why. Mamoru gives him a hard look, fingers itching to at least have his cane, but it's all far out of reach at the moment.

"What do you want, Nephrite?"

No one else here. Small residential place. Yeah, even Nephrite can figure it out... once he thinks about it. So Mamoru probably has a few years of peace left yet.

"Why does Beryl-sama talk about you?"

Huh? He hadn't even meant for those to be the first words out of his mouth. But she does talk about Endymion now and it bothers Nephrite, the way she concerns herself so much with the others, gives all of her love to them, and now even this guy, too! - and even if he gives her everything, will it really be enough?

Beryl talks about him? It's the first he's heard of, and really, Nephrite, he's about as pleased as you are. Which is to say not at all. He certainly doesn't want her attention on him. Having Kunzite's and Zoisite's is more than enough.

"I don't know," he answers after a moment, even if there's the slightest suspicion that it's about the exact same thing as the two shitennou. "And I don't care."

"Talk about Beryl-sama with more respect!" Nephrite glowers at Mamoru, quickly going from 'angry at being here' to 'angry this punk human can still beat him out for Beryl-sama and is being rude to boot'. "You should be honored by her attention!"

Damnit, he does not like facing off against Nephrite like this, without a weapon in hand, and in such close quarters. His eyes flick across the room, to where he knows his cane is hiding, along with the tuxedo, and he remains tense, as if considering his possibilities. He needs to take this elsewhere, and quickly...

"I have no interest in Beryl," he says after a moment, his voice firm. Then, hopefully before the shitennou can stop him, he dives across the room, grabbing the bag with the tuxedo and cane in it, and turns to run out of the room.

It makes Nephrite finally tempted towards actual violence, that running away. He's up to something after all! Nephrite's had a feeling this guy is bad news. If only he knew just why.

"Come back here, you bastard!!" He runs after Mamoru immediately, because surely it's fine to just throw him through a window or something now that he's being this way.

Not if he can help it. Mamoru's off like a shot, out of the bedroom, out of the apartment itself, and down the hallway to get out of the building, with the idle hope that it doesn't occur to Nephrite to remember where they're leaving. Hopefully, the man will follow him, or even better, simply teleport away. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that he's that lucky. So he simply runs, and hope he can find a place to duck out of sight to either ambush Nephrite, or possibly even put on his costume.

Nephrite lets out a wordless growl of anger and frustration, and knocks over the nearest few pieces of furniture to run after Mamoru all the more quickly, spilling anything on top of them to the ground and leaving behind quite a mess.

As if Nephrite would care about the mess, or even notice.

But when Mamoru still gets out of the apartment ahead of him, and he can't find Mamoru after a bit of searching, he goes back to the Dark Kingdom, irritably.
