There is something strange, and possibly dangerous in the Nexus. With all the other strange and crazy things going on, it might be hard to notice it. If one noticed it, it would start with a feeling, soothing and safe. Then move on as they got closer to recent injuries healing rapidly till they were all but gone. Then when they reached the center

Sometimes it just doesn't add up. There are little things that make even her wonder what Beryl's really up to. There are times the princess - Sailor Moon - really does seem sincere. There are ways she can't reconcile the fact that so many more of her alternates swear by - and to - the princess: fealty and friendship and love.

Usually she can ignore these things. But when she finds herself shielding her eyes from a brilliant light, they all come flooding into her.

"What's going on here?" she demands, and then she sees it: a man, with the glowing sigil of the moon. Ehhhhh?!

"Jupiter? Yes, it's Jupiter. He and you are the same." He's still in a daze. It may be a while before he regains his senses enough to give a clear answer. "They all were right, I was the Prince this whole time."

aww *cling!*

She doesn't care about that! The identities were revealed fairly early on, for Jupiter and her companions. She stares at Prince Serenity, but it's not as hostile as it might be at another time.

"Prince..." Then she puts the moon sigil together. "Serenity?"

"Apparently...that is who I am." He uncurls and smiles at her. "Are you okay?"

Not impressed. Jupiter crosses her arms, almost a bit huffy. But something keeps her from really snapping at Usagi - no, the prince.

"Where are your senshi?"

"They weren't with me. Masako and I went alone...Zoisite," His eyes tear up and he hides his face. "Zoisite hurt Masako, and Beryl took her."

Oops; bad to mention the shitennou. Jupiter's face changes almost entirely, completely ignoring the serious situation Usagi faces.

"What about Nephrite?"

"...She...Nephrite was killed in battle. Jupiter killed Nephrite." He remembered so well what had happened, because he had been hopeful they could join him. He wanted them all to be friends.

It's one of the very few things that still get to the girl behind the soldier. Jupiter's eyes widen, and she shakes her head.

"That can't be." She sounds aghast at first, but she sounds angry by the time she repeats it. "That can't be. It's a lie."

But she already knows better, doesn't she? Haven't they all already agreed, that's the decision they have to make if it comes down to a decision?

"It's not, Mako...Jupiter. Sorry." He looks straight at her. "My Jupiter is male. Nephrite was a woman, as all the shitennou are in my world."

"Nephrite, she used her shadow to posses a bridal shop dummy and seduce men for their energy. Jupiter was one of them, and in his anger he destroyed Nephrite and her shadow."

"You did that," Jupiter says flatly. "You made us enemies again."

"The person to blame in my world is the King. He is the one who controls the shitennou." He shakes his head. "We were protecting the young men she seduced. Those with romantic dreams of walking the woman they adore down the isle in one of those white dresses."

King? What king? A moment to consider what she does know about Usagi's world - and the obvious hints Usagi's scattered in this conversation - tell her 'Beryl'. Jupiter frowns. Then it hits her that Usagi may just mean a general energy scam.

"So what's wrong with taking some energy? We need it to restore Metalia and finally fix things so we can leave this planet."

"So human beings, with no powers of their own, are like cattle to you?!" You might want to back up Jupiter. That spike in healing energy isn't harmful, but it might knock you on your ass. "That's all they are, big energy steaks. Feed off them and throw the bones away. Milk the mamas till their dry. I bet the children all look like tasty veal to you."

"If there's anything wrong with it," - not that there is, that pose and tone say clearly - "it's the princess' fault. We can't fix this mess of hers without enough energy."

"And what is so evil about protecting them? They who know nothing of the 'mess' she made?" He's pissed again. "They are innocent people! Filled with hopes and dreams! And you do is keep draining them, killing them if you have to! Killing the people of the one planet that, of all people, Beryl and Endymion should love with all their hearts!"
