Order in the couuurt!
It's near the end of Shermer High's winter break, and almost time to return to school. Most students are facing the upcoming week with some dread, and with good reason. The reason being for most of them that they only had three days to play catch up on the tons of homework they were supposed to work on gradually through the holidays. And once Friday comes along, the clock is ticking.
Then there's Usagi. She has an entirely different reason to be in dread, and the reason is all around her: she's in a room at the Cook County Juvenile Court, sitting at the defendant's table next to her lawyer, fiddling with her fingers nervously. In front of her is a notepad, with badly done scribbles; she was so nervous she couldn't stop her hands from shaking when she tried to calm down, and eventually gave up. Right now she's picking at her fingernails.
Behind her is her friends and family, and on the other side of the courtroom behind the prosecutor is the wheelchair-bound Crystal, surrounded by her family and a few choice friends. Every other minute, the scarred face turns and glares at the girl, before glaring at Makoto, who is sitting at the end of the aisle. Every time Makoto's eyes are about to match it, however, Crystal's face quickly - angrily - turn away. Meanwhile, on Usagi's side in the very back, is another young female, who keeps giving looks towards Crystal, and not entirely kind-looking ones to boot. Others are randomly sitting, some of them waiting for this case to finish so they can present their own cases.
The judge's seat is still empty, so there's plenty of time for more people to come and mill around - but just make sure to obey the laws. There are policemen on duty and they are at every door.
But otherwise, court is now in session, and the People of Illinois vs. Usagi Tsukino is in a full, if brief, swing. Won't you join us?
((OOC: Welcome to court! Normally I wouldn't be putting this type of stipulation in but since this is a courtroom setting, I think the following limits are plausible unless the mod is not ok with it.
Anyhow: this is court and solemnity and order are of the highest priority when attending it. People whose characters carry swords/guns/bombs/glaives/staffs/etc., had better make sure their weapons be hidden in hammerspace or not brought in at all. Characters will be arrested by the NPC guards and taken out (and obstensibly poofed back to their world) if they are spotted bringing them in or if they try to take them out and use them in any way. Likewise, no picking fights because that's also not allowed when court's in session. Do it, and you'll get a taser sicced on you. Sorry, PGSM Nephrites. This includes all of you. And no food. And no drinks unless its water.
